Marsh created some of the most iconic images of life in New York in the 1930s, It has been said that Marsh was to New York what Daumier was to Paris. During the 1930s, Marsh was included in most major national exhibitions of American art and was considered one of the top contemporary American artists.
Today his work can be found in every major American art museum including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Washington D.C. and The Whitney, New York.
